Serol Serol
Two cousins from Dyffryn Conwy – Mali Siôn and Leusa Rhys – front the space-pop phenomenon Serol Serol and they’ve been leading listeners on a tour of the solar system since they started collaborating with local enigmas George Amor (Sen Segur, Omaloma) and Llŷr Pari (Palenco, Y Niwl).
Two singles were released at the end of 2017; ‘Cadwyni’ and ‘Aelwyd’ before the unfairly catchy tune ‘K’TA’ in 2018.
Their psychedelic self-titled debut album was recorded in Stiwdio Glan Llyn, and went down a storm after its release in 2018 with listeners and critics alike.
In May 2019, ‘Pareidolia’ was released, which discuses the tendency we have to see faces in objects and in nature – are they there or not? Once again, the band have created an other-worldly, hypnotic and warm sound which transports the listener to a far-away place. In July the same year, the two-sided single ‘Iwtopia’ was released.
‘Chwalu’r Hud’ appeared on the multi-artist record to celebrate I KA CHING’s tenth year, ‘X‘.
Huw Stephens described the pair as ‘Welsh Beyoncés’.
