Cpt. Smith – Llenyddiaeth // Bad Taste
Hear, hear, and please salute our Cpt. Smith – the latest addition to the I KA CHING family – who are a psychadelic, punk, young band from West Wales!
To celebrate the addition, we release two singles by the band, Llenyddiaeth (out April 15th) and Bad Taste (out May 13th) – available on digital format.
Llenyddiaeth combines some funk and psychadelic influences, as well as some drum and bass, and even borders a little hip hop! The band’s attitude is evident once more however, as they hit out at the ‘know it alls’ of our society, who in fact know nothing! Bad Taste is an angry punk song, and is symbolic of the band’s overall attitude and urge to say their say, and to express their opinion, views and frustrations on society’s current situations.
Cpt. Smith have been playing together for a little over a year. Band members include Lloyd Jackson on the guitar, Jack Brown on the drums and his brother Ellis Brown on the guitar, and frontman Ioan Hazell on the bass. The band have been recording in Haverfordwest’s Studiowz, and feel that the studio surroundings has had great influence on their sound and energy.
Those who have been fortunate enough to witness Cpt. Smith’s live performances are well aware of their hypnotic energy, and to think that the band members are yet to sit their GCSE’s, it is exciting to imagine what lies ahead!
