Candelas
Candelas have gone from strength to strength following the release of their self-titled debut album, with songs such as ‘Anifail‘ and ‘Symud Ymlaen‘ becoming anthems across the Welsh language music scene.
Candelas joined Ikaching during the Summer of 2014 and released two singles, ‘Cynt a’n Bellach’ and ‘Dim Cyfrinach’ and then their second album, Bodoli’n Ddistaw, in December 2014.
Bodoli’n Ddistaw was launched at Neuadd Buddug, Y Bala, and was aired live on Lisa Gwilym’s C2 Radio Cymru show. You can watch the full set here.
Candelas were the headline act at the Eisteddfod’s Maes B in 2015, and were chosen to play with the Welsh Pops Orchestra in a jam-packed concert at the Pavillion. Their cover version of ‘Rhedeg i Paris’ reached over 100K hits on YouTube, and was sung from dawn ‘till dusk during the Euro 2016 campaign – watch here.
Their third studio album ‘Wyt Ti’n Meiddio Dod i Chwarae?’ was released in June 2018 and a spectacular launch gig was held at Neuadd Buddug, Y Bala. Watch the music video for track 13, ‘O! Mor Effeithiol’ here.
