Ysgol Sul

Ysgol Sul are a three piece band from Llandeilo – Iolo Jones (guitar and vocals), Cian Owen (bass guitar) and Llew Davies (drums).

The band have been performing together since the summer of 2014 and made quite an impressions – winning the National Eisteddfod’s Battle of The Bands 2014 and performing at festivals such as Gŵyl Gwydir, Gŵyl Crug Mawr and Maes B

They describe their music as “lo-fi indie with a touch of shoegaze” – a unique sound in comparison to most young Welsh bands at the moment.

Two singles, ‘Aberystwyth yn y Glaw’ and ‘Machlud Haul’, were released in 2014; both recorded at Llyr Pari’s (Palenco, Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog, Y Niwl, Jen Jeniro) studio. The band returned to the same studio in 2015, to work on an even more dream-like collection of songs, that were released on the EP ‘Huno’.
