Yr Ods’ 7″ single
The latest addition to the ever-evolving I Kaching Records roster are melodic pop 5-piece Yr Ods. On the 9th of October 2015, they release the double-A-side 7” single ‘Ble’r Aeth yr Haul’ (‘where did the sun go’) / ‘Hiroes i’r Drefn’ (‘long live the order’).
Recorded in the legendary Funkhaus Studios in Eastern Berlin, Yr Ods turn to a darker, more abstract sound than their previous work, holding on to the sense of energetic melody which has been a stamp throughout their back-catalogue.
‘Ble’r Aeth yr Haul’ and ‘Hiroes i’r Drefn’ ponder upon the frustration and political stagnation that exists in 21st century Wales. The question whether situations of present and future, along with a repetition of the past, will ever inspire a calling for change to an order that proceeds to take hold on the lives of so many, seemingly with no conscience.
