Tra Môr yn Fur – Mynadd
Mynadd’s new single, ‘Tra Môr yn Fur’, set for release this Friday 16th May on I KA CHING Records.
This is the second preview of Mynadd’s upcoming first album, due to follow in June, and follows ‘Adra’ which was released in April.
Although the title of the track does not appear in the lyrics, an ode to the national anthem, it is particularly suitable for one of the most poignant songs on the album. Elain, the lead singer and composer of the song, said: “It’s a song that’s relevant to all of us in the band at the moment I think, because it’s at a time in our lives where we have more opportunities, but it feels strange to think about leaving home.”
‘Tra Môr yn Fur’ marks a new chapter in the maturity and evolution of the band as it addressees the experience of coming of age, and having to face change as young adults.
Ifan Emlyn Jones worked with the band on production, with Alys Williams helping out with vocals arrangements at Sain Studios. Mynadd will be promoting the album via a series of gigs across Wales this summer, including Tafwyl, Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau, and the National Eisteddfod in Wrexham.
