Sŵnami
Dolgellau’s young hopes, Sŵnami, are cut from similar cloth to a long lineage of great, U.K. indie bands… Arctic Monkeys, Bombay Bicycle Club and Catfish & the Bottlemen.
Wales’ upcoming, music-savvy generation have already danced and fallen in love to Sŵnami’s rapturously-received live sets. They won the Brwydr Y Bandiau at the 2011 National Eisteddfod in Wrexham and have subsequently released a series of brilliant, radio-enhancing singles.
Sŵnami joined the I KA CHING in 2014 family by releasing two singles – ‘Cynnydd’ & ‘Gwenwyn‘. Their following single, ‘Magnet’, was released just as the band travelled to Eurosonic Festival in Groningen to represent Radio 1.
Sŵnami then spent time co-producing their debut album with Rich Roberts at Stiwdio Ferlas. The self-titled album was released in 2015, and the band got a chance to promote their masterpiece by recording a session at Maida Vale Studios as well as performing at Festival No.6.
Sŵnami contributed a brand new song called ‘Breuddwyd Brau’ to the compilation that was released by I KA CHING to celebrate the lable’s 5th anniversary.
