New album by Sŵnami

On the 3rd of August I KA CHING Records will be releasing Sŵnami‘s long-awaited debut album. Last summer, we were given a preview with two popular singles, Cynnydd and Gwenwyn, and at the last gripping, catchy, self-titled album is here.

After a year of hard graft, the result is a synth-pop album that is “more personal than before” according to the band, “but less ambiguous”. We get a glimpse of how it feels to be in your early 20s through a collection of dynamic, vibrant songs discussing relationships, growing up and dealing with feelings.

Earlier in the year, Sŵnami were chosen to represent Radio 1 at Eurosonic Festival held at Groningen in The Netherlands – Europe’s largest showcase event. To celebrate, they released their first English language song, ‘Magnet’, which was featured instantly on the BBC Introducing Mixtape; a song that has definitely earned its place on the new album.
