Bwystfil Prydferth – Dienw
I KA CHING Records are proud to announce the new band Dienw will be releasing their second single ‘Bwystfil Prydferth’ on 22 November.
Dienw are Twm Herd (vocals, lead guitar) and Osian Land (drums), they describe themselves as ‘a raw and honest band that combine indie and psychedelic sounds’. They formed back in 2017 and had a live session on Huw Stephens’ show on BBC Radio Cymru in 2018, before releasing their first single back in October 2019. The band’s name is a tribute to one of their favourite bands – Eitha Tal Ffranco.
‘Bwystfil Prydferth’ is a loose refrence to the film Beauty and the Beast and is a far more serious song than their last single ‘Sigaret’. ‘Bwystfil Prydferth’ was recorded at Drwm Studio with Ifan and Osian Candelas. If you listen carefully, the whistling section of the song comes from Twm’s lack of patience to play the guitar riff while practising…! Classy.
