Cashews Blasus – Y Cledrau

After four years of waiting – “Cashews Blasus”, Y Cledrau’s second album will be available to download on the 2.7.21.

Y Cledrau are a part of the I Ka Ching Records’ family, and the album was recorded in stints throughout 2020-21 in Stiwdio Sain, Llandwrog, with Ifan Emlyn Jones producing.

This album goes more to extremes than the first album, with the heaviest tracks heavier, the lightest tracks lighter, and the wackiest even wackier. More time was spent in the studio experimenting and adjusting to the different types of songs, with 3 songs recorded live for the first time.

The album combines frantic stream-of-consciousness lyrics with a hard hitting banger of a guitar riff. The album is peppered with witty lyrics and the band’s usual melancholic angst.

A video will be released for the first track – Disgyn Ar Fy Mai, the song that includes the lyric that gave the “Cashews Blasus” title. The video is a compilation of the members’ personal videos, edited together by Rhys Grail, which is a record of a year and a half’s silly adventues and the process of putting frantic minds together to create this colourful and tasty piece of work.
