Adra – Mynadd
Mynadd’s new single, ‘Adra’, will be released this Friday 18th April via I KA CHING Records.
This is the first taste of Mynadd’s debut album, set to follow in June. The track, and the accompanying artwork, invites different interpretations of the concept of ‘home’. Whether that is to be found in the company of friends or loved ones, in the comforts of your house, or in the countryside, the song reflects on the simplicity of happiness.
As young adults, it becomes more and more apparent to the band’s members that there is comfort in the ‘home’ that anchors them: “the same old smiles and habits,” as the lyrics of the song, written by Nel Thomas (bass), say. Basically, this is an innocent love song, and the chorus is sure to get you singing along.
Ifan Emlyn Jones worked with the band on the production, with Alys Williams helping out with vocals’ arrangements over at Sain Studios. Mynadd will be promoting the album via a series of gigs and festivals across Wales, including at Tafwyl, Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau, and the National Eisteddfod in Wrexham.
