BLODAU PAPUR RETURN WITH A BRAND NEW SINGLE

Blodau Papur’s new single, ‘Dŵr’, will be released via I KA CHING on 14th March 2025.

After taking some time away, Blodau Papur are back with a brand new single, ‘Dŵr’ (Water), the band’s first single since the release of ‘Morfydd’ in 2022 as part of I KA CHING’s compilation album

Although their first album ‘Blodau Papur’ leans towards funk and blues, ‘Dŵr’ is undoubtedly influenced by the painless period of the 90s. From the bass line, the driving guitar, to the melodic voice of Alys Williams. The track is reminiscent of the time when life was simpler as teenagers and romanticises the idea of going wild swimming in the river, long before it became a trend on Instagram.

The art cover was designed by Cat Williams, Alys’ daughter, with the typeface developed by Dafydd Owain. Ahead of its release this Friday, ‘Dŵr’ is BBC Radio Cymru’s Track of the Week.
